The Zayed National Museum tells the story of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al
Nahyan, his unification of the United Arab Emirates, the long history of the region
and its cultural connections across the world.
Inspiring every element are the principles of Sheikh Zayed, to whom the museum is
dedicated. His vision for the region transformed Abu Dhabi and led to the founding
of the UAE. His love of his people led him to establish schools, conservation areas
and many institutions to benefit Emiratis. His approach was to consult widely, show
strong leadership and build consensus. The Zayed National Museum not only honours
his achievements, but has been founded in the spirit of his work on behalf of Emiratis
and people everywhere.
Housed at the centre of Saadiyat Cultural District, Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum will open in 2016.
